
The Northwest Forestry Association (NFA) represents the forest products industry on issues affecting both public and private forest lands. NFA's membership ranges from small, family-owned companies to large multi-national corporations. NFA's members are committed to ensuring a plentiful supply of timber in Oregon and Washington. NFA strives to maintain healthy and productive forests, where trees are grown to produce lumber and paper products for millions of people. NFA's staff includes forestry, business and communications professionals who possess a variety of skills and abilities. Resource staff members have impressive professional and educational credentials with advanced degrees in forestry and business. NFA operates three regional offices in Oregon and Washington that provide support services to members.
NFA strives to provide a positive operating environment for the forest products industry. NFA is an active member of the Northwest Forest Resource Council (NFRC), an organization representing the entire forest products industry in the Pacific Northwest. NFA provides staff support for NFRC's Policy, Legal, Communications, Wildlife and Technical committees. NFA accomplishes many of its objectives through NFRC.
NFA helps to guide the forest products industry through this dynamic time. NFA provides up-to-date information to local and national news media. NFA also frequently provides well informed, articulate speakers for various civic, fraternal, social and educational groups. NFA builds powerful coalitions with business and citizen groups throughout the region and plays a major role in coordinating the efforst of a diverse industry. NFA cooperates with other regional and national organizations to represent industry interests in the legislative, legal, technical and coalition-building arenas.
