The Alaska Forest Association represents over 250 members in the Alaska timber products industry. The association began in 1957 as the Alaska Loggers Association, but in 1991 changed the name to more accurately reflect the membership and the broader interests that the Association has assumed as the state-wide voice of the forest products industry.
The mission of the association is to promote a healthy, growing forest-based industry in Alaska and to provide cost effective insurance and pension benefits and services to our membership. Working with our local, state and federal elected officials, we strive to maintain a stable economic base in our timber-dependent communities and provide the essential products demanded from the forest.
